Tortuga Bay Hotel 

Decorated by the world famous designer Oscar de la Renta, Tortuga Bay Hotel offers 15 luxury beach front villas (with 50 rooms in total) with uncompromised privacy and five star relaxation. This Caribbean jewel is located within a 15.000 sq ft gated community where celebrities such as Julio Iglesias, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Oscar de la Renta have private homes. Right in front of your villa you have 5 miles of white sandy beach and unspoiled views of the Caribbean Sea. As part of the VIP services that await you when you stay at this luxurious hotel, you will be picked up at the Punta Cana International Airport and helped through the immigration process by the VIP Staff.

ROOMS: Tortuga Bay has 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedrooms to properly accommodate all guests. All rooms are elegantly decorated and offer spacious indoor and outdoor areas, separate kitchen facilities per bedroom and oversized coral bathrooms – everything has been combined to give you the highest sense of comfort and luxury. All rooms are air conditioned and include ceiling fan, a 37 inch flat screen television, telephone, broadband internet connection (laptop rental is available), DVD/CD player, a cell phone to contact your villa manager*, iron/ironing board, walk-in closet, pillow menu, umbrella, digital safety deposit box and personal desk. The oversized coral bathroom includes a bathtub/Jacuzzi, separate showers, toiletry items by Gilchrist & Soames (UK Spa Therapy line), hairdryer, make-up mirror, bathrobe and slippers. The separate kitchen area has e.g. a coffee/tea maker, ice maker, microwave and mini bar.

*The villa managers attend to every 2 villas and can assist you with e.g. reservations for the restaurants, private check-in, ironing, shoe cleaning and more.

Room service is available daily from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Choose from an extensive menu.

RESTAURANTS & BARS: Enjoy your meals in one of the restaurants at the Tortuga Bay Hotel. The restaurants include the Bamboo restaurant decorated by Oscar de la Renta who created a cosy and elegant atmosphere. Here you can enjoy a continental breakfast from 7:00 a.m. including a cold buffet and a select menu of hot dishes. Lunch is served between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. 5 o'clock tea (and gourmet coffee) is served between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. For dinner you can enjoy a variety of international dishes including e.g. Caribbean and Asian delicacies. Dinner reservations should be made with your villa manager. For dinner, sophisticated casual attire is required. You can also go to the La Yolarestaurant for lunch or dinner and enjoy a delicious seafood fusion meal. La Yolais a nautically themed marina restaurant with glass bottom floor panels and an open bow overlooking the harbour. Casual attire is recommended (no shorts). This restaurant is not included in the meal plan. If you are in the mood for a BBQ lunch you may go to The Grill. This restaurant is located at the club/beach house of La Cana golf course which makes it a perfect place to have lunch after a beautiful round of golf or a day on the beach. Choose from refreshing salads, seafood and more. This restaurant is not included in the meal plan. Finally, you can enjoy lunch (12:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m.) at the La Choza restaurant. This casual restaurant is located next to the beach and offers a variety of grilled entrées, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Children's menu is available. This restaurant is not included in the meal plan.

If you wish to enjoy their meals in the comforts of your own villa, you have the possibility of having your villa manger serve your breakfast. For lunch and dinner you have the possibility of ordering room service (7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.).

ACTIVITIES: During the day you have a chance to enjoy one of the many activities offered by Tortuga Bay Hotel and/or Punta Cana Resort. Activities include horseback riding (tours and classes), scuba diving (tours for certified divers and classes for beginners), Mini Zoo, guided tours (e.g. bird watching tours) through Punta Cana Resort 's own ecological park, bathing at Manantial Yauya which is a crystalline-water spring located at the ecological reserve (those who have bathed in these waters call it the Funtain of Youth). Children (4–12 years old) can enjoy the activites of the children's club (open daily) which include boat rides, painting classes, water skiing classes, horseback riding and a variety of competitions and activities on the beach. All activities are subject to extra charges.

GOLF: Golfers staying at the Tortuga Bay Hotel have a chance to play one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Dominican Republic . La Cana Golf Course , which opened in 2000, is designed by the famous architect P. B. Dye and is the first of several courses planned for the resort. While many of the famous seaside courses are located high above the ocean, La Cana Golf Course literally plays along the beach, giving the feeling that you can actually reach out and touch the ocean. As P. B. Dye describes it himself, “ Punta Cana will be one of the last great opportunities in the world to build a seaside course where the ocean comes into play on four holes.” As a guest staying at the Tortuga Bay Hotel you can play the golf course at a special green fee rate (includes golf cart and range balls).
